TEXTIPIEL S.A. was established in 1962 as a garment manufacturer called CONFECCIONES SIRENA CIA., LTDA. Due to great product demand, more raw materials were needed, so the textile manufacturing facility ALFATEX S.A. was established. This plant specialized in the production of synthetic fabrics.

For the last 35 years, the company has been implicated in the textile industry as an industrial producer of different types of fabrics, specializing in 1982 in the production of pile fabrics. In 1992, ALFATEX changed its name to Textiles y Pieles TEXTIPIEL S.A. In 1996 a new manufacturing facility was created for the production of stuffed animals originally called ECUATOYS® its products are sold under its recognized brand Sweet & Soft®.

The company is divided in two major strategic business units, industrial textile production and manufacturing of stuffed toys. This vertical integrated production model using specialized machinery and qualified personnel has permitted that TEXTIPIEL can produce competitive cost products with characteristics according to customer’s needs. The company is well prepared to its expansion and future growth.

The continue expansion to new markets has demanded that TEXTIPIEL increases its production capacity and product quality refinement. Nowadays, TEXTIPIEL serves many markets in Latin America and the Caribbean and is constantly searching for new business opportunities.
